Mike Myers is working on a prequel to the Austin Powers films as a stage musical.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Mike Myers and the co-director of the Broadway smash hit The Book Of Mormon Casey Nicholaw are creating an Austin Powers stage musical
It has been reported that Myers himself will not act in it, possibly looking for a younger star as the storyline centres around how Powers acquired his famous ‘mojo’.
The musical is set to feature the music of Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach, whose songs were well represented in the three Austin Powers films: International Man Of Mystery, The Spy Who Shagged Me and Goldmember.
Myers is also working on a fourth film in the series.
