Certain SXSW events have gone into shutdown mode as a severe storm warning is issued for the City of Austin.
SXSW is warning people at the event to pay close attention to weather reports, especially those attending the Auditorium Shores free show this evening featuring Wolfmother and Coheed and Cambria.
This afternoon SXSW warned, “Severe Weather Potential: Be prepared to seek shelter indoors as necessary.
“For attendees in the Auditorium Shores area, in the event of severe weather, please seek shelter at the Palmer Events Terrace or the Long Center Parking Garage. Do not stand under tents during severe weather conditions”.
More recently the Texan music conference organisers issued a further warning.
“Severe Weather Watch: Please be advised of a severe thunderstorm watch in the Austin area around 8 PM / 8:30 PM CT.
“Pay close attention to weather reports, take appropriate precautions, and be prepared to seek shelter indoors as necessary”.
The Aussie BBQ at Brush Square Park Austin has also been affected with Gold Class playing on with the bad weather approaching before the event was shut-down.
