Blink-182 ‘California’ is currently Australia’s fastest selling album with just one day of sales tallied.
‘California’, the 7th Blink-182 album is a special release for fans as it marks the band’s first album without founding member Tom DeLonge. That also means it is the first Blink-182 album with now only one original member, Mark Hoppus. Drummer Travis Barker didn’t join the band until the third album ‘Enema Of The State’, replacing original drummer Scott Raynor. The new member is Matt Skiba (ex-Alkaline Trio).
‘California’ also marks the departure of long-time Blink-182 producer Jerry Finn. John Feldmann (lead singer and guitarist for Goldfinger) produced ‘California’.
Australia has had a long and successful relationship with Blink-182. While the first album ‘Cheshire Cat’ failed to chart here (or anywhere except New Zealand) consequent albums have had decent chart figures.
