The Ed Sheeran ballad “Perfect” remains at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for a seventh straight week, giving him an accumulated equal amount of weeks at No.1 this decade with Justin Bieber.
“Perfect” falls to No.2 on the streaming chart this week and over on the digital sales chart it is at No.7 (Beyonce duet), No.11 (solo version) and No.32 (Andrea Bocelli duet), whilst Ed himself has now amassed 28 weeks at the top in Australia with his four No.1’s, placing him equal first alongside Justin Bieber for this decade on the list for ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 2010’s; Singles’ at 28 weeks overall, and on the similar list for ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: 1940 to 2018’ he is now equal not only with JB but also Olivia Newton-John (5 #1’s) at No.20.
The last song to spend seven weeks at No.1 was “Rockstar” for Post Malone and 21 Savage, which is on hold at No.6 this week, with the newer Post track “I Fall Apart” on hold at No.2 for a second week, helped by his national tour, plus the song is the new No.1 streamed track in the country (#6 digitally), while also on hold at No.3 and the new No.1 single in England is Eminem with Ed Sheeran and “River”. The No.3 debut for the first album by Camila Cabello helps her former No.1 “Havana” to climb back up one spot to No.4, swapping places with “Meant to Be” by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line, down one place to No.5 and still the current No.1 digital track in Australia.
Christian rapper NF returns to his former peak of No.7 with his debut entry “Let You Down”, whilst the track is newly certified 2x▲Platinum, with the song swapping places with “Silence” by Marshmello and Khalid, down one to No.8. Last weeks highest new entry in “Finesse” for Bruno Mars with Cardi B is this week up six places to a new peak of No.9, becoming the 14th Top 10 single in Australia for Bruno and the first for Cardi, plus the third Top 10 from his current album “24k Magic”, with the second new entry to the ten being “This is Me” for Keala Settle and the Greatest Showman Ensemble, up nine places to No.10, becoming the first Top 10 from the current No.1 album, plus the first Top 10 single for both Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron here in Australia.
UP:
* The new Camila Cabello album not only helps her former No.1 song, but her six week old entry “Never Be the Same”, which blasts up forty places to land at a new peak of No.17.
* Post Malone’s “Candy Paint” rises on place to a new chart height of No.19.
* Clean Bandit with Julia Michaels rises a single spot to a new peak of No.20.
* Sheppard see their current single “Coming Home” climb a spot to a new peak of No.22, plus the track is newly certified Gold (●) in sales.
* The Justin Timberlake entry from last week in “Filthy” is only up one spot to a new peak of No.27, whilst his massive track “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” falls out but is now 9x▲Platinum in sales.
* “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack now has three songs within the Top 50 this week, with the Zac Efron and Zendaya duet “Rewrite the Stars” jumping up twelve places to No.30 and the title track “The Greatest Show” for the cast is also up twelve spots, landing at a new peak of No.42.
* The Kendrick Lamar and SZA entry from last week “All the Stars” climbs three spots to No.31.
* Taylor Swift might be dropping with her two older singles, but her debut from last week in “End Game” with Ed Sheeran and Future jumps up fourteen places to a new peak of No.38.
* Camelphat and Elderbrook move up a single place to a new chart height of No.39 with “Cola”.
* Angus & Julia Stone land their fifth Top 50 entry in Australia, as “Chateau” rises two places to land at a new peak of No.49.
* Local Hayden James with GRAACE jump up eight places to a new peak of No.62 with “Numb”.
* After three re-entries for The Cranberries (see below) the fourth and final returning track this week is “All Falls Down” (HP-95) for Alan Walker with Noah Cyrus and Digital Farm Animals at No.96.
DOWN:
* Two songs leave the Top 10 this week, with the Selena Gomez and Marshmello track “Wolves” (HP-5×2, WI10-10) down two spots to No.11 and after a solo week within the ten the G-Eazy and Halsey collaboration in “Him & I” (HP-10, WI10-1) drops back down three to No.13, with the solo Halsey entry “Bad at Love” down nine spots to No.82.
* After re-peaking at No.12 the Hailee Steinfeld and Alesso track “Let Me Go” drops three to No.15, while Hailee’s solo entry “Most Girls” is down nine spots to #100.
* Also down three places to No.16 is “Go Bang” by Pnau after two weeks at a peak of No.13.
* Rita Ora falls six places to No.23 with her track “Anywhere”, while her duet with Liam Payne and “For You” is down five spots to No.63.
* There’s a new entry for Dua Lipa, so older entry “New Rules” falls eight spots to No.24.
* Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” is down five to No.29, his “Castle on the Hill” crumbles nine places to No.71, his “Galway Girl” skips down seven to No.76 and he retains the crown for ‘Longest Charted Single’ as “Thinking Out Loud” is down a spot to No.97 in its 152nd Top 100 week.
* Charlie Puth falls seven places to No.32 with his “How Long” track.
* Sam Smith debuts with a new song this week, and his former No.1 “Too Good at Goodbyes” is down five places to No.32 and goes from singular to now 3x▲Platinum in sales.
* Macklemore is touring here in early February, but this week his two chart entries drop in “Good Old Days” down four places to No.33, and “Glorious” slides eight spots to No.43.
* Imagine Dragons see their current single “Whatever it Takes” drop down eight places to No.46.
* Both Pink entries fall this week, with her albums title track “Beautiful Trauma” down nine to No.47 and “What About Us” falls nine spots also, dropping to No.69.
* There’s also a nine place slide to No.50 for the French Montana single “Unforgettable”.
* Justin Bieber and BloodPop are down nine spots to No.55 with their “Friends” track, while JB’s appearance on “Despacito” is only down four places to No.60.
* There’s an eight place slide to No.56 for the Logic and Khalid track “1-800” with Alessia Cara.
* Big Shaq tumbles twenty places to No.64 with his debut entry “Man’s Not Hot”.
* Sam Hunt takes his “Body Like a Back Road” down twenty places to No.79.
* The two older Taylor Swift tracks both drop again this week, with “…Ready for it?” down twelve to No.92 and “Look What You Made Me Do” moving down eleven places to No.93.
NEW ENTRIES:
* #14 – My My My! by Troye Sivan is the first taste from the forthcoming second album (no date or title as yet) for the local 22 year singer from Perth, and it becomes his sixth Top 100 and Top 50 entry, plus now his second highest charted, as his debut single”Happy Little Pill” peaked at No.10 in August of 2014, plus it also becomes his fourth Top 20 entry too, with Troye performing the song on the 20th of January edition of US comedy show ‘Saturday Night Live’.
* #53 – IDGAF (I Don’t Give a F**k) by Dua Lipa is the sixth single released from her self-titled debut album (TW-59) and follows on from her highest charted song “New Rules” (HP-2) which drops to No.24 this week.
* #57 – We’re Going Home by Vance Joy is the second entry from the 23rd of February due second album by the local act entitled “Nation of Two”, and follows on from former No.18 single “Lay it on Me”, which is up two places to No.45 this week, and overall this is the performers tenth Top 100 entry.
* #58 – Zombie (HP-1×8) by The Cranberries
* #59 – Linger (HP-33) by The Cranberries
* #78 – Dreams (HP-30) by The Cranberries are all returning due to the sudden passing this week of lead singer Dolores O’Riordan at the age of 46 in London. At this time in 1995 their former No.1 single “Zombie” was at six of its eight week stay at No.1, and the bands first two singles in “Linger” and “Dreams” return also.
* #86 – Real Friends by Camila Cabello becomes the eighth Top 100 entry in Australia for Camila, and the third from her debut set “Camila”, which is the highest new album entry this week.
* #98 – One Last Song by Sam Smith is the official second single from his second album “The Thrill of it All” (TW-10) after “Too Late for Goodbyes” (TW-37), whilst two album tracks have also charted from the album in “Pray” (HP-41) and “Burning” (HP-80) late last year and this is his sixteenth entry overall.
