Barefoot Divas, whose members are from Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Australia and ARIA award winner Jeff Lang are more names added to the second artist announcement for the Australian World Music Expo (AWME).
AWME will take place in Melbourne from November 14 to 17 during Melbourne Music Week
Also added to the showcases are Richard Franklin & The Charcoal Club, The Twin Beasts (formerly known as The Toot Toot Toots), Sons of Zion from New Zeland, southern Italy’s Kalascima, Australian alt-country act Sweet Jean and Melbourne’s The Cactus Channel as well as Admiral Fallow (Scotland), Marcus Corowa, Mzaza, Mark Vanilau (NZ), Loryzine (Reunion Island) and Nahuatl Sound System.
AWME’s first artist announcement featured Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Hollie Smith (NZ), Sola Rosa (NZ), Stephen Pigram, Damien Dempsey(IRE), The Cambodian Space Project (Cambodia/Australia) Dereb The Ambassador, Coloured Stone, Knox(Fiji), The Orbweavers, The Putbacks with Emma Donovan, Grizzly Jim Lawrie, Impossible Odds, Whiri Tu Aka (NZ), Stan & The Earth Force (Vanuatu), Slip On Stereo, Maya Kamaty (Reunion Island) and Tjupurru.
Keynote speakers for the AWME music conference will be announced in coming weeks.
The Australian World Music Expo will feature a line-up of more than 50 global roots and world music artists.
AWME will take place in Melbourne at the Melbourne Arts Centre of November 14 to 17, 2013.
