The Australian World Music Expo (AWME) will return to Melbourne’s from November 14 to 17, 2013.
AWME is a four-day presentation of roots music from around the world with a music conference, film program and artist showcases. The event covers both a general public festival and an industry development component.
The conference is held at the Melbourne Arts Centre and then showcases take place at Melbourne’s various venues.
The objective of AWME is to raise the profile of roots music groups based in Australia and the Pacific region and contribute to the development of the local music sector.
AWME artists of 2013 included Archie Roach, The Medics, The Bamboos, OKA, Lo Griyo, Clare Bowditch, East Journey and Kutcha Edwards.
In 2013 showcasing artists travelled from New Caledonia, New Zealand, Israel, Italy, Mali, India, Nigeria, Jamaica, the UK and USA to perform at AWME.
AWME is offering a platinum pass at discounted rate for $180 until September 30. The pass gives access to all conference and film sessions as well as the live showcases concerts.
There is also a Gold pass with access to the sessions only or a Silver pass with access to either film or music.
