Barbra Streisand is currently promoting her 34th studio album, ‘Partners’ something she has failed to do in decades.
The 72-year-old Hollywood legend is actually talking to media about this record and thinks men can be ‘easier’ to work with sometimes.
Barbra duets with exclusively male vocalists on the LP, including Lionel Richie, John Mayer and Babyface among others, and the songstress is elated she got to cut tracks with such talented singers.
“I like men. Men are easier to deal with than women – most of the time,” she told USA Today. “There’s nothing better than a good woman friend.”
Barbra reveals having duets with men only wasn’t the direction she and music producers were initially travelling in while creating songs for Partners.
According to the Grammy-winner, males were the folks willing to record tracks for the LP.
“We asked a few women to be on it, but they were unavailable, busy. One didn’t like the lyric to a song,’ she recalled. ‘The men were available.’
Barbra would love to duet with Beyoncé Knowles in the future.
She is hopeful that the pop superstar is also open to the possibility of recording music together.
“Maybe we’ll do something some day,’ Barbra smiled.
Although Partners is slated for release in the US and France this week, Barbra won’t be doing any excessive promotion for it.
The veteran entertainer is hoping the album will sell primarily through word of mouth.
‘[My Partners collaborators are] on tour or vacation. I did my stuff. If word of mouth is good, it’ll click,’ she said.
