When stories started circulating that Barbra Streisand cloned her dog it felt like fake news. The story of Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett being clones from 14-year old Samantha in 2017 sounded seriously made-up. But it wasn’t!
Streisand has confirmed the story is 100% accurate.
In an interview with Ramin Setoodeh of Variety, Barbra Streisand revealed that the two current dogs were cloned from cells taken from the mouth and stomach of her 14-year Coton de Telear but that she can tell the difference. “They have different personalities,” Streisand told Setoodeh. “I’m waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her brown eyes and her seriousness.”
This is one of my favorite cover stories that I've written for Variety. A two-hour rare interview with BARBRA STREISAND at her Malibu home. https://t.co/vqJ5XJYUTz

One thing that is consistent with Barbra’s beliefs is her revulsion of Trump. “Now, in retrospect, Bush looks quite good compared to Trump. At least he’s not mean-spirited,” she said.
A few more reveals. Streisand says her performance days are over. “I’m not going to sing live again,” she said.
As for the upcoming reboot of A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga in the role she played in 1976, Ester Hoffman. “It’s good,” she said. “I don’t want to talk about it because I don’t want to spook it. I can’t believe that was 40-some years ago. I think he did a wonderful job with her.”
