When Maurice Gibb passed away in 2003, the remaining brothers in the Bee Gees, Barry and Robin, said that the group was no more. Over the years, they did do some shows and performed the songs of the group, but as either solo artists as as a brotherly duo.
Now that Robin has also passed away, there was some speculation on how Barry would handle the group’s music. Recently on Twitter, he alluded to the possibility of carrying on in their absence.
I’d like to personally thank all those kind people who grew up with us and enjoyed our music wherever you are in the world.
Our whole family appreciates your support at such a difficult time. I will miss all my brothers deeply.
I will live on the music and no matter what stage I’m standing on my three brothers will be standing there with me.
The third brother referred to in the statement is Andy Gibb who passed away in 1988 and never performed as part of the Bee Gees.
Barry has ventured forth in the past away from the group, most famously in his collaboration with Barbra Streisand on her Guilty album.
