Barry Gibb and his wife Linda bought the house and property that Johnny Cash and June Carter called home for over forty years in Hendersonville, TN.
The couple bought the house in January 2006 and planned to renovate the structure before moving in; however, a spark ignited a preservative being used by workman in April 2007 and the building burned to the ground.
The Gibbs originally talked of rebuilding on the property, using the original foundation, but nothing came of the plans and, on March 18, they sold the land to a Lakehouse Holdings.
Overall, the Gibbs took a $300,000 loss on the property, having originally purchased it for $2,300,000 and selling for $2 million.
