Blues legend BB King died from a series of mini strokes brought on by diabetes.
Clark County coroner John Fedenberg told the Associated Press that the 89-year guitarist’s official cause of death was Multi-Infarct Dementia (MID), also known as Vascular Dementia.
King had been a long-time sufferer of type 2 diabetes. The dementia affected his brain function and the strokes were set off by reduced blood flow.
BB King died in Las Vegas on Thursday at age 89. He has been remembered by President Obama, Morgan Freeman, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr and Lenny Kravitz.
