Beady Eye, Deftones, The Hives To Replace Blur At Big Day Out

Blur’s one-time rival Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye, The Hives and Deftones will fill the hole left by Blur at the Big Day Out.

Blur surprised fans and the Big Day Out organizers when they announced their withdrawal from the Australian music festival 10 days ago in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Blur blamed the festival promoters for their withdrawal.

The Blur Big Day Out snub came less than two months before the start of the festival in Auckland on January 17.

Big Day Out director AJ Maddah has promised refunds to any punters not happy with the replacement.

Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire and Snoop Dogg will perform at Big Day Out 2014.
