Beck will release his next album ‘Morning Phase’ through Capitol Records in February.
Beck’s last studio album was ‘Modern Guilt’ in 2008 although he published ‘Song Reader’ in 2012, featuring the sheet music to 20 songs he had written but has still not recorded.
‘Morning Phase’ will be a companion album to Beck’s 2002 release ‘Sea Change’. Both albums feature the same band including Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Joey Waronker, Smokey Hormel, Roger Joseph Manning Jr., and Jason Falkner.
Beck has released a teaser video featuring the album’s first single ‘Blue Moon’, out later this week. ‘Blue Moon’ will also be included in an upcoming episode of HBO’s ‘Girls’ and also feature on the ‘Girls Volume 2: All Adventurous Women Do’ album out in February.
The tracklisting for ‘Morning Phase’ is yet to be announced.
