The Grand Ole Opry will welcome a legend this Friday night (July 27) when Barry Gibb performs.
Gibb has long had ties to Nashville, having written for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton (Islands in the Stream) and working with the late Johnny Cash. He had purchased Cash’s home in Hendersonville, TN after his death only to see it burn down a year later during renovations.
Barry said in a statement “I have dreamed of performing on the hallowed stage of the Opry since I was 12 years old, so this is a dream come true for me. There is no greater honor.”
It is believed that this will be Gibb’s first public performance since the passing of his brother Robin in May.
