As a chronicle of this bedazzling power, BELINDA CARLISLE THE CD SINGLES 1986 ‘ 2014, a lavish, comprehensive, 29-disc CD box set, will be released on 21 August 2015 on the Edsel label.
The CD set features no less than 20 of Carlisle’s worldwide top 40 hit singles, in addition to a stunning array of rare B-sides, and live tracks. Added to this is a bonus CD including the previously unavailable track In My Wildest Dreams which featured in the opening credits of the 1987 movie Mannequin, this CD collection will be highly sought after by longtime devotees.
Heaven Is A Place On Earth, Mad About You, Leave A Light On, Live Your Life Be Free, Big Scary Animal, and In Too Deep are just a handful of the chart smashes which solidified Carlisle’s solo stardom from the mid-80s through the mid-90s resulting in sales upwards of 10 million units. Having previously achieved fame as front woman for the groundbreaking, all-female punk-pop band the Go-Gos, these classics stand as testament to Belinda Carlisle’s continued relevance to several generations of music lovers.
Critically lauded nuggets such as I Won’t Say I’m In Love (from Disney’s Hercules), A Prayer for Everyone, and the 2013 ‘comeback’ anthem Sun are further shining examples of the singer’s endless appeal within an ever-changing musical landscape. Belinda Carlisle will be appearing at Rewind in Henley on 22 August and then has dates in October in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Brighton and London.
