Ben Folds Five have reunited after 13 years.
Ben Folds, Robert Sledge and Darren Jessee have hit the studio to start work on their fourth studio album.
The last record was ‘The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner’ in 1999.
Their last recorded song together before they broke up was ‘Barrytown’, a Steely Dan cover for the ‘Me, Myself & Irene’ soundtrack in 2000. However, they did get back together in 2008 to record three new songs for the compilation album ‘The Best Imitation of Myself’.
Ben also tweeted, “It’s happening fo sho – Day 1 in the studio with Robert and Darren through March’.
Ben Folds Five formed in North Carolina in 1993. Their big song was ‘Brick’ in 1997.
Ben has also collaborated with William Shatner and in 2003 toured Australia with Ben Lee and Ben Kweller as The Bens.
