Garage pop act Best Coast and dreamy indie duo Beach House are both streaming their albums online.
Sweet garage pop outfit Best Coast are also back, this time with their second album The Only Place which is a follow-up to their lo-fi, surfy debut Crazy For You of 2010.
They’ve already released two singles – ‘The Only Place’ and ‘Why I Cry’ – from the album, which remain imbued with the doe-eyed hipster mantras from frontwoman Beth Cosentino. The Only Place will come out on May 15.
Maryland’s Beach House broke through in 2010 with their third album Teen Dream, led by singles ‘Used To Be’ and ‘Walk In The Park’ – at once dense, punchy, and ethereal.
They’re back with album number four Bloom, which will be released on Sub Pop also on May 15.
To sample both these female-fronted, bittersweet pop bands’ new album, head over to NPR‘s ‘First Listen’ site here.
