Bette Midler Outs Geraldo Rivera As A Sexual Preditor

Bette Midler has shared a piece from a 1991 interview with Barbara Walters where she claims talk show host Geraldo Rivera has drugged and groped her.

In the interview with Walters, Midler says, “Geraldo and his producer came to do an interview with me in the 70s. This was when he was very hot. He and his producer left the crew in the other room, they pushed me into my bathroom. They broke two poppers and pushed them under my nose and proceeded to grope me. I did not offer myself up on the altar for Geraldo Rivera. His behaviour was unseemly”.

Geraldo was tweeting a defence for sexual harrassers after the sacking of Today host Matt Lauer this week. “#SexHarassment allegations should require: 1-made in a timely fashion-say w/n 5 yrs. 2-some contemporaneous corroboration, like witnesses, electronic or written communications. W $ settlements in multi-millions slight chance exists some victims are motivated by more than justice,” he posted.

Midler told Walters in 1991, “I tell you if I’d known that 20 years later he was going to wind up a slimy talkshow host I never would have let him in the room. You have no way of knowing at the time that these things are going to come back to haunt you”.

Today Geraldo attempted to explain himself again. “Reaction to my tweets today on #sexharassment makes clear I didn’t sufficiently explain that this is a horrendous problem long hidden-Harassers are deviants who deserve what is coming to them-Often victims are too frightened to come forward in a timely fashion-I humbly apologize.”
