Beyonce has decided that she is not able to headline the Coachella Festival in April due to her being pregnant with twins.
According to sources with her management and the festival, she is “following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months.”
The singer was scheduled to close both Saturdays (April 15 and 22) on a bill that also included Bon Iver, Future, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Schoolboy Q and Gucci Mane. None of those have the name recognition to qualify as a true headliner, so it appears that the Coachella organizers are now under the gun to find a suitable replacement.
Beyonce was not the only veteran artist headlining this year. Radiohead is scheduled to close on Friday night both weeks. Kendrick Lamar is the scheduled closer on Sunday.
