The Big Day Out announcement of Blur’s replacement expected today has been delayed.
Big Day Out director AJ Maddah had told punters on Twitter earlier this week to expect the announcement on Friday but that will now no longer happen to schedule.
When asked by a punter with the Twitter name ‘cow shit on a stick’ “what time do we find out about the band for the big day out?” Maddah replied “As soon as I am satisfied we have adequate paperwork and contracts. May not happen today due to Thanksgiving in The US”.

There is still no official explanation why Blur reneged last minute on their Big Day Out obligations after the band announced to the world and Big Day Out organisers of their withdrawal from the festival suddenly last Sunday morning.
Blur were to co-headline the Big Day Out 2014 with Pearl Jam.
Maddah is assuring punters of an increased ticket value when the replacement is announced. As Big Day Out have promised refunds to anyone not satisfied with the replacement it in unlikely the organisers would risk anyone turning off fans with an act outside of Blur’s music genre.
At short notice, that narrows the possibility down to maybe The Cure of Thom Yorke’s Atoms For Peace, two bands that could potentially fill the Blur hole.
Big Day Out will start in Auckland, New Zealand on January 17, 2014.
