A scene with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong talking about a fictional solo album was deleted from the ‘Knocked Up’ sequel ‘This Is 40’.
In the movie Paul Rudd plays the owner of a small indie label and chats to Armstrong about a side-project he is working on.
Armstrong says he wants to record an album blending Norwegian death metal with a Belle & Sebastian style because his frustration with Green Day is that they sell too much music. “I’m trying to change that by doing this side project,” Armstrong says.
He describes the sound as “It’s sort of music you can maybe cry to but burn a church down at the same time.”
‘This Is 40’ picks up four years after ‘Knocked Up’. The Judd Apatow comedy once again stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. Graham Parker and Ryan Adams also have cameos in the movie.
