Billy Corgan is Through Talking About D’arcy Wretzky

As far as Billy Corgan is concerned, he is done with the debate over why D’arcy Wretzky is not being included in the Smashing Pumpkins reunion.

Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin have come together to tour this summer, leaving the original bassist for the group out in the cold. Wretzky was the first to take a shot, saying she wasn’t asked but Corgan responded that he had talked with her but she chose not to get involved. “Ms. Wretzky has repeatedly been invited out to play with the group, participate in demo sessions, or at the very least, meet face-to-face, and in each and every instance she always deferred.”

Wretzky has continued to maintain her side of the story.

Corgan recently appeared on a Chicago radio station with Mancow where he put further discussions to rest. When asked about the situation with Wretzky, he said:

Honestly, I don’t really want to talk about it. I think the difficulty is the world works in a particular way these days, it’s very much like professional wrestling.

Listen, there’s a time and a place for everything, and this just isn’t the time.

The band has 36 dates scheduled so far for their reunion tour.
