Billy Idol has remastered classic Idol albums for a reissue role-out as well as a compilation of his first band Generation X.
“We remastered and have begun releasing the classic Idol records; Billy Idol, Rebel Yell & Idolize Yourself on vinyl and are planning a Generation X package release for Xmas 2018,” Billy said in a statement.
Idol is also working on new music. “We have begun writing some new material and are making our way towards a direction for our next extravaganza,” he says.
Generation X had three albums between 1978 and 1981. ‘Generation X’ in 1978 reached no 29 in the UK, ‘Valley of the Dolls’ in 1979 reached 51. 1981’s ‘Kiss Me Deadly’ failed to chart. A fourth album ‘Sweet Revenge’, recorded in 1979 was eventually released in 1998.
Idol’s solo debut ‘Billy Idol’ was released in 1982. It featured the hits ‘Hot In The City’ and ‘White Wedding’.
1983’s ‘Rebel Yell’ had ‘Rebel Yell’, ‘Eyes Without A Face’, ‘Flesh For Fantasy’ and ‘Catch My Fall’.
‘Idolize Yourself’ is a 2008 compilation.
