El Guincho, Hudson Mohawke, Death Grips and more appear on an eight-part remix series for Björk’s Biophilia.
Biophilia was ambitious enough, with its interactive app and involved live performances, but now Pitchfork reports that a group of cutting-edge musicians have remixed tracks from the album, that will be released over four months.
The eight-part series features re-interpretations from El Guincho, Matthew Herbert, Hudson Mohawke, Alva Noto, These New Puritans, 16 Bit, King Cannibal, Current Value and Death Grips.
Each effort will be released every two weeks, starting from April 2, digitally, on CD and on vinyl (with limited edition deluxe versions available) through label One Little Indian.
First up will be breakbeat and drum n’ bass producer Current Value’s take on ‘Crystalline’ and ‘Solstice’. He also worked on the original album track ‘Sacrifice’.
