Get ready for the return of Black Flag. As we reported on Saturday, there are two Black Flag reunions happening this summer, one with Greg Ginn and Ron Reyes, and one going out under the name of FLAG, with Chuck Dukowski.
That first lineup is the one planning on putting out the first album of new studio music from the group since 1985’s In My Head. The work on the as-of-yet unnamed album is in the final stages of recording and is expected in the latter part of 2013.
The band has also said that it will tour extensively in support of the album. Since Saturday, when the one appearance they had scheduled was Hevy Fest in the U.K., they have added shows at Ruhrpott Rodeo in Hünxe, Germany (5/18), and the Muddy Roots Music Festival in Tennessee (8/31).
Roberto “Robo” Valverde was in the original announcement for the Hevy Festival but is not mentioned in the subsequent press release, sent out Monday. Its not known at this time if he will be participating.
