An upcoming documentary on The Black Keys will primarily focus on the relationship of members Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney.
Noah Abrams has been following The Black Keys with his film crew and expects to have the movie completed in August.
Abrams is a close friend of Auerbach and Carney and told spin.com that The Black Keys two members have known each other since they were kids. Instead of portraying the “star” side of the band, Abrams says he wants to tell the story of two mates who became very successful as they went from playing empty clubs in their early days to sold-out stadiums now.
Abrams told Spin that the movie will be “a buddy comedy with perhaps the greatest soundtrack of all time.”
He has been filming the band since January and has travelled with them through Europe, the USA and Canada.
The Australian leg of The Black Keys tour will reach Australia in October. The first show is October 21 in Newcastle.
