The city of Birmingham UK is planning to honour its loudest sons Black Sabbath with a metal bench and also possibly name a bridge after the band.
The metal bench will be placed in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. The Birmingham Mail reports that it will be hand-crafted by a local tradesman.
The city is also considering renaming the bridge on Broad Street, Birmingham Black Sabbath Bridge.
Tommy Iommi and Bill Ward from Mythology initiated the band and brought in John ‘Ozzy’ Osbourne and Terence ‘Geezer’ Butler from Rare Breed to round up the line-up. They were originally called Polka Tulk Blues Band, then Earth before settling on Black Sabbath.
The band formed in Aston, Birmingham in 1968. Black Sabbath played their final show on 4 February, 2017.
