Bob Hoskins, one of Britain’s greatest actors, has died of pneumonia at the age of 71.
Hoskins was best known for the movies ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Mermaids (1990) and Hook (1991). Bob made his first movie at age 30 in the British Comedy ‘Up The Front’ alongside Frankie Howard playing a recruiting sergeant.
The outspoken Hoskins was always political. He despised former British Prime Minister Tony Blair once saying “he’s done more damage than Thatcher’.
In 2011 Hoskins was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and retire from acting.
Bob had four children, Alex and Sarah with first wife Jane Livesey andRosa and Jack with second wife Linda.
In announcing the death of her husband Linda Hoskins said, “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Bob.
“Bob died peacefully at hospital last night surrounded by family, following a bout of pneumonia.
“We ask that you respect our privacy during this time and thank you for your messages of love and support.”
