Bob Seger’s new album, Ride Out, has sold around 56,000 albums during it’s opening week, good enough to put it at number 3 for the week.
This week’s Billboard chart places Florida Georgia Line at number one with 200,000 and Jason Aldean at number 2 with 92,000 leading the way with Seger in third.
The Seger position gives Bob his highest position since 1986’s Like a Rock went to number 3. Bob’s 1981 live album, Nine Tonight, also peaked at 3 while his 1980 set, Against the Wind, took him to the top.
Barbra Streisand continues to hold well, only dropping from 3 to 5 with sales of 41,000. That should be enough to put her on the cusp of 500,000 for gold record status.
U2’s Songs of Innocence is projected to have sales of about 23,000, giving them a projected start at number 11. That would be the lowest that one of their studio albums has gone since 1984’s The Unforgettable Fire peaked at 13.
