Bob Seger has released ‘Glenn Song’, a tribute song to Glenn Frey on the first anniversary of his death.
January 18 marks the first anniversary of the death of Eagles’ founder Glenn Frey. Frey died in New York at age 67 from complications of rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia, while recovering from gastrointestinal tract surgery.
Bob Seger co-wrote the Eagles songs ‘Heartache Tonight’ and ‘Funky New Year’ with Frey.
Seger recognized Frey’s talents well before Eagles had formed. Glenn played and sang on Bob’s ‘Heavy Music’ (1967) and ‘Rambin’ Gamblin’ Man’ (1968).
Glenn also appeared on Bob’s albums Seger’s Stranger in Town (1978), Against the Wind (1980), and Distance (1982). Seger co-wrote That Girl with Glenn off of No Fun Aloud.
