Bobbi Kristina Brown has been moved to hospice care.
The 22-year-old has been on life support at a rehab facility in Atlanta after being placed in a medically induced coma when she was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her Roswell, Georgia home on January 31.
Despite contradicting reports about the state of late singer Whitney Houston’s daughter’s health, her family released a statement on Wednesday setting the record straight.
“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate,” the statement, which came from Bobbi’s aunt Pat Houston, read. “As of today, she has been moved into hospice care.”
Brown, 22, was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta area home on January 31. She underwent surgery to replace her breathing tube with a tracheostomy tube in February.
“We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.”
Meanwhile, TMZ.com have reported that the family made the decision to move Bobbi after being told by a top brain specialist in Chicago that she had “no hope” of recovering from the coma. According to the outlet, the entire Houston family sat down to discuss the doctor’s assessment before making the decision to let Bobbi “die naturally”.
The website also reports that doctors are unsure just how long Bobbi will survive as she has been taken off all her medications.
Pat, Bobbi’s grandmother Cissy and her father Bobby Brown have been playing a vital part in supporting the youngster in her battle to return to full health.
