Bobbi Kristina Brown’s boyfriend Nick Gordon has been accused of beating her.
The 22-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston was moved into hospice care on Wednesday as her family reportedly took her off the life support she has been on since being found face down in a bathtub on January 31.
Also on Wednesday, Bobbi Kristina’s conservators filed a complaint against Nick accusing him of causing his girlfriend ‘substantial bodily harm’ and also stealing thousands of dollars from her.
“Today I filed a lawsuit on behalf of Bobbi Kristina Brown. I filed this lawsuit to pursue justice on behalf of Bobbi Kristina Brown. No human being, male or female, should endure what Bobbi Kristina endured,” Bedelia C. Hargrove told People.com via a statement through Pat Houston’s lawyer David W. Long-Daniels.
“Pat Houston and Bobby Brown have done all they can to take care of Bobbi Kristina since this terrible tragedy occurred. I have worked closely with both of them and we all want the very best for Bobbi Kristina. This lawsuit represents our collective efforts to get justice for Bobbi Kristina. We pray that justice will be done for her and that it will be swift.”
The papers accuse Nick of ‘misrepresenting’ himself as Bobbi’s husband in order to control her and steal money from her.
‘He often answered Brown’s personal cell phone, would not allow her to make appointments without his approval, and manipulated her bank relationship so that he could access her money,” the papers state, according to People.
Nick is also accused of various counts of domestic violence, “including punching her in the face, knocking out a front tooth and dragging her upstairs by her hair.”
Back in January, Bobbi is said to have asked to meet a close friend on January 31 to discuss her future with Nick because he ‘was not the man she thought he was”.
But Bobbi apparently didn’t make it to the scheduled meeting because she and Nick “became embroiled in a loud argument”. This row ended with Bobbi “face down in a bathtub, with her mouth swollen and another tooth knocked out’. While the lawsuit doesn’t directly accuse Nick of causing the accident that led to Bobbi’s irreversible brain damage it does appear to hint at it.
