Whitney Houston’s former husband Bobby Brown and her mother Cissy Houston have issued statements following the death of Whitney yesterday.
Bobby Brown said, “I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi Kristina. I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time.”
Whitney’s mother, gospel star Cissy Houston had spoken with her daughter just 30 minutes before she died. Today she said, “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney. This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends.”
Meanwhile Whitney and Bobby’s only child, 18-year Bobbi Brown was released from hospital today. She was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in West Hollywood last night at around 11pm after suffering a complete breakdown.
Whitney Houston died at around 3:45pm Saturday, February 11, 2012. The autopsy into her death was conducted today but results will not be announced for another six to eight weeks.
She was 48-years old.
