Bobby Brown has launched a new attack on his late daughter’s boyfriend, suggesting he knows more about Bobbi Kristina Brown and her mother Whitney Houston’s deaths.
Brown banned Nick Gordon from visiting his daughter in the hospital after she was found unresponsive and face down in a bathtub at the Georgia home she shared with her partner.
Gordon had tried to resuscitate the 21-year-old after he found her submerged in the bath on 31 January, 2015. Bobbi Kristina was taken to a nearby hospital and placed in a medically-induced coma, but she never regained consciousness and died in July.
The drowning incident was eerily similar to her mother’s death in 2012, Whitney Houston was found dead in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and her death was ruled an accidental drowning with cocaine found in her system, and Bobby Brown insists that’s not the only coincidence.
In a taped 20/20 news special, which will air in America on Tuesday (June 7), the heartbroken and angry R&B star opens up about the deaths of his daughter and former wife.
Fighting back tears in the TV chat, he says, “The same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney. There was only one person who was around on both occasions… I won’t say his name… He knows what happened. I don’t know what happened that night, but he does.”
Last month, Brown joined his daughter’s court-appointed conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, as a plaintiff in the civil case against the tragic 22-year-old’s boyfriend.
Brown’s name was added on May 4, days after Hargrove filed a renewed motion for monetary sanctions against Gordon on the grounds of his complete disregard of the court, according to People.com.
The renewed motion came just days after Nick gave his version of the events that occurred on the day Bobbi Kristina was found in the bathtub during an appearance on America’s Dr. Phil show.
He also attacked her father on the program, telling self-help guru Dr. Phil McGraw, “He (Bobby) hurt his own daughter, not me. I was the one there for her while she was dealing with him not being there. He’s not a reasonable person so I’m not planning on talking to him and I really don’t want to.”
Hargrove has subsequently made it clear she did not approve of Gordon’s TV appearance.
“The defendant ignores this Court’s mandates but freely discusses his role in the incident which led to the horrific injuries to Decedent Bobbi Kristina Brown on public television,” she stated.
During his interview with Dr. Phil, Gordon said he “ignored” the wrongful death lawsuit “and its consequences”.
