Bobby Brown believes his daughter Bobbi Kristina’s early death was a call from God.
The singer’s only child with late songstress Whitney Houston passed away at the age of 22 on July 26, nearly three and a half years after her mother died in February 2012.
Bobbi Kristina first entered a coma on January 31, 2015, she was then kept alive on life support in a hospice, but despite familial effort she passed away.
“We prayed and hoped for six months … for something better to happen,” father Bobby said on the premiere episode of The Real, which airs in full on Monday September 14. “But when God calls you, he calls you.”
In his first television interview since Bobbi Kristina’s passing, Bobby revealed he is convinced an angelic form of his ex-wife Whitney greeted their daughter up in Heaven.
Although the 46-year-old My Prerogative crooner is desperately sad to have had his daughter die, he is in some way grateful she was not alone in the afterlife.
“I’m pretty sure her mother was . had a part with like, ‘Come on, let’s get her up here’,’ Bobby noted. “[Whitney] was not comfortable by herself, I guess. She just called my daughter with her.”
The tragedy that caused Bobbi Kristina’s coma was eerily similar to the way her mother Whitney died. Bobbi Kristina was found facedown in a bathtub filled with water at her home in Georgia before being rushed to hospital and Whitney met her demise by drowning in the tub at her Beverly Hilton Hotel room.
Bobby wishes he could have done something to at least prevent the death of Bobbi Kristina.
‘I might walk back there and start crying,’ he noted. ‘If I could have been there two days before, it would not have gone down like that.”
When asked what his fondest memory of Bobbi Kristina is, Bobby answered: ‘her smile’.
