Bobby Brown struggled to get through a July 4 performance, having to stop several times.
The 46-year-old singer was performing as the opening act for Mint Condition at the Affordable Old School Concert Series at Wolf Creek Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia.
But due to difficulties in his personal life, following his daughter Bobbi Kristina being moved to hospice care late last month, Bobby found himself pausing to compose himself at various points during the concert.
Wearing an all-pink outfit, Bobby did his best to focus as much as he could on his music ‘ and his fans were mostly delighted with his performance.
“Fans loved his performance,” a crowd member told Us Weekly. “Bobby did his New Edition classics and busted out into some of his signature dance moves, but had to stop several times during the 30-minute set.”
Despite the unscheduled pauses, Bobby was incredibly apologetic to the crowd.
He attempted to explain his difficulties to the crowd, telling them: ‘Sorry, I’m in a different zone tonight. Y’all got me sweating and dancing. I’m so happy to be here tonight.”
While Bobby did not mention his 22-year-old daughter by name, it was apparently clear that her deteriorating condition was playing on his mind.
Bobbi has been unconscious and on life support since she was found face down and unresponsive in a bath tub at her home in the city at the end of January. She was moved to hospice care on June 24.
In a recent interview, Bobby’s New Edition bandmate Johnny Gill said the singer is struggling to cope with the news that his daughter is unlikely to survive much longer.
“State of mind? In a nutshell, not good. Not good,” Johnny told ET. “We just had a conversation yesterday. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.”
