The body of Tali Lennox’s boyfriend has been discovered by officials.

The 22-year-old daughter of singer-songwriter Annie Lennox went kayaking on Saturday with her beau Ian Jones, but the couple experienced tragedy when their boat capsized just outside of Poughkeepsie, New York. Due to a strong current from a passing vessel Ian drifted away from Tali and has been missing ever since.

Authorities have found a corpse just a few miles away from where the kayak capsized that matches the 32-year-old’s physical description. Apparently officials spotted the body at an alcove floating in shallow water.

‘Just after 12:00 pm on 8/10/15 a human male body was located in the Hudson River near the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club. The body has been removed, and is scheduled to undergo an autopsy on Tuesday 8/11/15 to determine the cause of death and identification,’ the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement according to the Mail Online. ‘The body matches the description of Mr. Ian Jones, who has been missing in the Hudson River since the morning of Saturday 8/8/15 after a kayaking accident. While there is a strong possibility that the body recovered is that of Mr. Jones, it remains only a possibility at this time.’

Tali and Ian had been dating for several years before his disappearance.

The couple often enjoyed taking short trips to relax in nature.
