Bondi Beach Fest 2016 Cancelled

by Paul Cashmere on October 12, 2016

in News,Noise Pro

Bondi Beachfest for 2016 has been cancelled.

The 2016 line-up included Icehouse, James Reyne & Mark Seymour, Josh Pyke, Rogue Traders, William Creighton and Ash Grunwald.

The event was set for 12 November 2016.

The promoters of the event have issued the following statement:

“Putting a stage on Bondi Beach is difficult to manage and an expensive process to deliver. We’d love to put the show on but it’s just not financially viable so we have made the decision not to proceed with the festival in 2016.

The Bondi Beachfest surf lifestyle brand is key to us. Our plan was and is to establish an “on-the-beach” ecofriendly music event so the last thing we wanted to do was to cancel the show or push ahead with anything less than an amazing event. Decisions like this are really tough to make and we have spent a long time considering all of our options. We had to consider our costs to date as well as our patrons and their experience, and felt we wouldn’t be able to deliver an event that would represent the Beachfest brand properly.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the great team of people that have worked so hard to make these events happen and we extend our thanks to the artists who were to appear.

The announcement today is by no means the end of Beachfest, we will come back bigger, better and more impressive in the very near future.”
