Bonnie Pointer, a founding member of the Pointer Sisters with her siblings, was arrested on Friday morning in Los Angeles for felony drug possession.
According to authorities, the car in which Pointer was riding was stopped for a bad breaklight at 12:39 AM Friday. Further investigation showed what was allegedly rock cocaine in her possession.
Pointer was booked and released on $10,000 bail. She will appear in court on January 17.
The singer formed the Pointer Sisters in with Ruth, Anita and the late-June Pointer. She left in 1977 for a solo career that produced hits like Heaven Must Have Sent You and Free Me From My Freedom.
