Bonnie Raitt will return with a brand new album called ‘Slipstream’ in April. It will be her first album since ‘Souls Alike’ in 2005.
‘Slipstream’ will be the 16th studio album from Bonnie who released her first self-titled album in 1971.
In between these two records, Bonnie’s parents and her brother passed away. Her dad was famous Broadway star John Raitt. He was the star of Carousel.
‘Slipstream’ will be the first album for the 62-year old singer songwriter on her own label Redwing Records. Four of the tracks were produced by Joe Henry.
The album includes a couple of obscure Bob Dylan covers ‘Million Miles’ and ‘Standing In The Doorway’ and Loudon Wainwright III’s ‘You Can’t Fail Me Now’.
