William Hill have slashed the price of Adele winning the Best Original Song Oscar from 4/6 to 1/3 after she won the Golden Globe.
William Hill had also been offering 6/1 that Adele would swear in her Oscar acceptance speech, which has also been trimmed to 2/1 after her speech at the Globes.
‘The odds suggest that the Oscar is as good as on the mantelpiece, the only question is will she be able to keep the acceptance speech clean?’ said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams. ‘We don’t see Adele as a planner and all the form suggests that a naughty word is highly likely to slip out.’
The big movers in the Oscar markets include ‘Argo’, which was cut from 7/1 to 9/2 to win Best Picture and Christoph Waltz who is now 4/1 from 14/1 to win the Best Supporting Actor award. Daniel Day Lewis looks highly likely to get his hat-trick of Best Actor Oscars and he is 1/12 to do so.
