Boomerang, the indigenous music festival, will become part of Bluesfest in 2016.
Boomerang has been granted its own space next to the Jimbalya stage at Bluesfest next year. “The Boomerang precinct at Bluesfest is all about cherishing culture and ending the disparity between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australia. This intergenerational exchange will allow our loyal audiences a unique hands-on engagement and experience, while allowing the Boomerang Festival to build audiences and find support as a future a stand-alone festival,” said Bluesfest organizer Peter Noble.
The Boomerang line-up will be announced soon.
Bluesfest acts already announced include The National, City and Colour, Joe Bonamassa and Lukas Nelson + Promise of the Real with Melissa Etheridge and Foreigner looking likely to be added shortly.
Bluesfest will be held 24-28 March 2015 at Byron Bay.
