Bowie Gets A Bar In London

by Paul Cashmere on September 4, 2018

in News

A David Bowie themed bar is about to open in London.

Ziggy’s is in the Hotel Café Royal at 68 Regent St, London.

The room has been decorated with photographs of Bowie’s 70s persona Ziggy Stardust taken by photographer Mick Rock, who travelled with Bowie on the tour.

Bowie used to hang out at the Hotel Café Royal in London’s Soho district. The venue was also frequently visited by The Beatles, the Stones and Oscar Wilde. Bowie threw his final Ziggy party at Hotel Café Royal, with celebs including Lou Reed, Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand and Mick Jagger turning up for the shindig. The party was dubbed ‘The Last Supper’.

The drink menu is Bowie-inspired. ‘Darkness and Disgrace’ is a line from Ziggy Stardust, ‘Tigers On Vaseline’ is a line from Hang On To Yourself.

Ziggy’s will open on 20 September, 2018.
