Brandon Flowers has released a live video for his new single, I Can Change, the second release to be taken from The Killers frontman’s solo album,The Desired Effect.
Directed by Giorgio Testi and premiered on the BBC, the clip was filmed during Flowers’ recent sold-out shows at London’s Brixton Academy.
Currently galloping up the airplay charts, I Can Change has been greeted with much excitement from fans, having being hailed in advance reviews as a highlight of the new album and ‘a retro-futurist disco classic’ (The Independent). The song samples Bronski Beat’s Smalltown Boy to magnificent effect, and features a drive-by vocal cameo from Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant.
The Desired Effect is Flowers’ second #1 solo album, following 2010’s solo debut, Flamingo, and his sixth overall including his four Number 1 albums with The Killers.
The album has been received to great acclaim from critics and fans alike, Rolling Stone hailing it ‘the best straight-up pop album made by a rock star in recent memory’. Flowers followed his recent UK and European headline tour with a brief but joyous interlude to reunite with his Killers bandmates to headline Delaware’s Firefly Festival. Later this month he sets off on an extensive North American tour that runs through to October.
