Marilyn Manson “became a recluse” after splitting from Evan Rachel Wood.
The 46-year-old rocker dated the 27-year-old actress for four years until they called off their engagement in 2010. The pair’s extramarital relationship was a catalyst for his divorce from ex-wife Dita Von Teese in 2006, and Marilyn felt plagued by failed romances after his split with Evan.
“I became a recluse. It started to snowball into getting lost,” he told UK newspaper The Mirror. “I had the windows blacked out, it was freezing cold, and you could never tell whether it was night or day. The backyard was a parking lot for a liquor store, where hobos slept. It was a haunted house ‘ haunted by behavior.”
Marilyn’s house still looks haunted, as it is filled with oddities. “I fashioned it after the TV show Hannibal,” he explained of his home’s décor. “I have a lot of taxidermy, a prosthetic limb collection, and a 7ft tall, 100-year-old skeleton, I call Ernie. My cat, Lily White, likes to sleep in his pelvic bone. If you believe items retain some sort of energy or are haunted, I’m f***ed.”
Marilyn is often gifted unique pieces by his friends Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The Beautiful People hitmaker loves the abortionist’s chair the Hollywood ‘it’ couple gave him a while back, which he has now adorned with a beaver rug.
‘They gave me a strange fish with chicken feet and horns that they said they brought back from Africa when they adopted their kid,’ Marilyn detailed. They said they hunted it down. It’s a seabass with fangs and horns. I was like: ‘Wow, that’s really exotic and weird.’ I believed it for about three months until I saw a price tag on the bottom. It was from some store.’
