Queen guitarist Brian May features on a new song by Stephen Kalinich and Jon Tiven ‘Rude Awakening’.

The song is featured on the new album ‘Each Soul Has A Voice’, released this week in the USA.

Over the past 40 years Jon Tiven and Stephen Kalinich have been associated with some of the greatest names in music. Tiven has worked with The Rolling Stones, Wilson Pickett and Frank Black and has an Australian connection when he worked with Ian Moss on ‘Mr Rain’. Kalinich is the legendary poet known for his association with The Beach Boys and his collaborations with Brian Wilson and Dennis Wilson. At one point if time he was even considered “a beatnik”.

‘Each Soul Has A Voice’ is the third collaboration for Stephen Kalinich and Jon Tiven. Soul sessions legend Steve Cropper also guests on the new record.

The songs merge Stephen’s words with Jon’s sounds to remind us of a time when great words together with great music equalled culture. ““I wanted to forge a new sound with Stevie that was unlike anything I’d heard. As I was getting great fulfillment from playing the tenor sax, it was natural that I wanted to feature that as much as my guitar playing on the record,” Jon said.
