Britney Spears will headline the 2014 Ambassador Class for VH1 Save The Music Foundation to showcase the importance of music education.
The Foundation works to keep and make music education a major part of the American education system.
Britney performed on Wednesday at the opening of the new Bloomingdales in Glendale for the foundation.
“I am so proud to be a VH1 Save The Music Foundation Ambassador,” said Britney Spears in a statement. “Music is such a big part of my life and as a mother I can’t imagine my children growing up without it.”
Taye Diggs, Jason Derulo, Hunter Hayes, Gloria Reuben, Diane Birch and Cher Lloyd also performed at the event.
“We are thrilled to have such an incredible collection of celebrities join our 2014 Ambassador class,” said Paul Cothran, Vice President and Executive Director of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. “It is extremely important that we make people aware of how vital music education is to a child’s development and with the support of these generous superstars we can help to inform the national conversation.”
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a nonprofit organisation focused on restoring music education programs into America’s public schools.
