Britney Spears wants to date someone like Kevin Federline, it has been claimed.
The Toxic singer was married to the dancer from 2004 until 2007 and they have two sons together. While Kevin has remarried, the 33-year-old has struggled to find her perfect match and since splitting from her most recent boyfriend Charlie Ebersol, she is reportedly hoping to recreate her and Kevin’s relationship with someone else.
‘She wants what she had with Kevin in the early days,’ a source told OKMagazine.com. ‘She loved the fact she could mold him a certain way; he wasn’t in the business; he depended on her and she called the shots with the finances and in public.’
The couple had a whirlwind romance before tying the knot in October 2004. They had son’s Sean Preston, nine, and Jayden James, eight, together before splitting. And while Britney ruled the roost in public, the insider says it was a different situation at home between the former spouses.
‘Behind closed doors she was a submissive, southern girl with her strong husband calling the shots and guiding her emotionally,’ the source continued.
They went on to describe Britney as an ‘incurable romantic’ who is set on finding a ‘down-to-earth’ guy. However it’s proving to be a difficult task because of her worldwide fame.
‘She’s even considering online dating under an alias,’ the source explained.
After her divorce from Kevin, Britney was engaged to Jason Trawick until 2013 after a four year relationship. She then dated David Lucado before her most recent relationship with Charlie, which sadly ended last month.
