Bruce Springsteen opened up his Auckland, New Zealand show with a cover of Lorde’s ‘Royals’ this weekend.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are wrapping up their month long tour of Australia and New Zealand in Auckland with two shows this weekend.
Bruce chose the first Auckland show to pay homage to New Zealand’s music biggest musical export of the 21st Century, Lorde.

The Boss performed the song solo before the E Street Band joined him for ‘My Love Will Not Let You Down’.
Auckland was also being treated to a full album perform of ‘Born In The USA’. Springsteen also performed the album at the first Melbourne show, ‘Born To Run at the second Melbourne show, ‘Darkness On The Edge of Town’ in Sydney and for the second time only ever ‘The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle’ in Brisbane.
Springsteen has covered AC/DC ‘Highway To Hell’ four times in Australia and Bee Gees ‘Stayin’ Alive’ once in Brisbane. he also performed The Easybeats ‘Friday On My Mind’ and INXS ‘Don’t Change’ on this tour. The Saints ‘Just Like Fire Would’ has been played at every Australian show. He first covered The Saints Oz Rock classic in their hometown Brisbane in 2013 and recorded the song a few days later in Sydney at 301 Studios. His Sydney recording of ‘Just Like Fire Would’ is the version you hear on his current ‘High Hopes’ album.
Bruce Springsteen’s final southern hemisphere show is tomorrow (Sunday, March 2) in Auckland.
