Bruce Springsteen has debuted at the top of the British Album chart with his new set High Hopes.
It is Springsteen’s tenth number 1 in the U.K., moving him ahead of Michael Jackson, ABBA, Queen and David Bowie on the list of most chart toppers and tying him with U2 and the Rolling Stones. The Beatles had fifteen number 1’s followed by Madonna with twelve and Elvis Presley and Robbie Williams with eleven each.

Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams remain in the top ten at numbers 5 and 9, respectively. Barlow’s album has been out for eight weeks while Williams has been for nine.
The Cure’s Greatest Hits, which has been on the charts for 162 weeks, jumps from 72 to 39. Elton John’s One Night Only: The Greatest Hits, also makes a big leap from 181 to 60.
Behind Springsteen on the Album chart is Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon, Beyonce, Bad Blood by Bastille and Barlow.
On the singles chart, the top three stays the same with Pharrell Williams’ Happy, Pitbull’s Timber and Avicii’s Hey Brother.
